Meaning of Apadamapahartaaram - on Lord Sri Rama

Today is Sri Rama Navami, which is the birthday of Lord Sri Rama, the 7th avatara (incarnation) of Lord Vishnu. Lord Sri Rama is the ideal son, ideal brother and ideal husband.  He was born on the 9th day of Chaitra masa (month) with the birth star Punarvasu. All rishis (saints), devatas (gods) and all the people of the country especially Ayodhya anxiously waited for the birth of Sri Rama who is the only person that can stop all the asuras or rakshasas (demons).  Here is a shloka offering prayer to Srirama for the welfare of everybody.

Apadaam-apahartaaram 
Daataaram Sarva Sampadaam
Lokaabhiramam Sri Raamam 
Bhuyo Bhuyo Namaamyaham

 Pronunciation:  
 āpadām-apahartāram 
dātāram sarva saṁpadām
lōkābhirāmam śrīrāmam 
bhūyō bhūyō namāmyaham
 
आपदामपहर्तारम् दातारम् सर्व संपदाम्
लोकाभिरामम् श्रीरामम् भूयो भूयो नमाम्यहम्


Word to word meaning:  Apada = trouble /sorrow; Apahartaaram = to get rid off / to ward off; Daataaram = the giver of;  Sarva = all; Sampadaam = wealth; Loka = world, universe; Abhiraamam = beautiful; Shree Raamam = Lord Sri Rama; Bhuyo = again; Bhuyobhuyo = again and again (repeatedly); Namami = Salutations; Aham = me/my.

Meaning:  I bow repeatedly to Lord Shree Rama, the one who is most beuatiful in the world, the one who wards off sorrow and gives wealth to devotees.
