Meaning of Tvameva Mata Shloka

Tvameva Maata Cha Pitaa Tvameva
Tvameva Bandhush Cha Sakhaa Tvameva
Tvameva Vidya Dravinam Tvameva
Tvameva Sarvam Mama Deva Deva

त्वमेव माता च पिता  त्वमेव 
त्वमेव बन्धुश्चा सखा त्वमेव
त्वमेव विद्या द्रविणं त्वमेव
त्वमेव सर्वं मम देव देव  

Word to word meaning: tvam = you; eva = are only; maata = mother; pitaa = father; bandhu = relative/kin; sakha = friend; vidya = education/learning; dravinam = money; mama = my; deva = God; deva deva = God of gods/supreme lord.

Meaning: O! Supreme Lord, only you are my mother, father, relative and friend. You are only my knowledge and wealth.  You are my everything.

  3. please tell us HOW DRAVINAM means WEALTH as DRAVA means liquid and DRAVYA means money/wealth. and please tell me the SHABDAROOP OF DRAVYA and where DRAVINAM falls in between please clarify

  4. Manoj Kumar ji, thanks for your question. You are right. The root for द्रव as well as द्रविणं is द्रव्‌ which means flow. Dravam is something which flows. Dravinam is also money which flows from place to place. धन्‌ or लक्ष्मी also is चन्चल्‌ It does not stay in one place. That is why it is called द्रविणं. Hence bothe Drav and Dravinam have same root. Hope this helps.
